This morning Microsoft announced the official release date for the Xbox One will be Friday, Nov. 22, 2013. As well as in the US, the ‘One’ will also launch in 12 other markets including Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, New Zealand, Spain, and the UK. Microsoft also promised the Xbox One will ship to additional markets in 2014.

In addition to the release date, the Xbox team also announced a 10-percent improvement to the console’s CPU, with an upgrade from 1.6GHZ to 1.75GHZ. This is in addition to the recently announced 6% increase for the GPU.

Xbox’s Corporate Vice President of Marketing Yusuf Mehdi said in his blog post, “We are humbled and gratified by the tremendous interest in Xbox One from game fans everywhere.”

Additional consoles have also been made available in limited quantities to pre-order from the Microsoft Store or participating retailers such as Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop, and Target.
