What do you get when you partner two monster game companies like Activision (Call of Duty) and Bungie (Halo)? You get a sci-fi epic called Destiny. According to a joint press release today, Destiny is a first-person story that takes place in an “unfolding, cinematic universe.” There’s also a social element to the game, in which you may encounter other players on their own adventures while you’re in story mode. The epic takes place in the distant future where gamers play as Guardians of the last city on Earth, traveling the ruins of our solar system. Gameplay includes cooperative, competitive, public, and social activities that are all connected.

Bungie president says “Destiny is the game that we’ve been dreaming of building for years.”

Activision calls Destiny an “innovative persistent, online world filled with sweeping adventures.”

Destiny will be built on Bungie’s next-gen game engine for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and other “future console platforms.” Open the Press Release link below for more details.
