Sorry to disappoint anyone who has been waiting patiently, but SEGA has announced the official release date for Company of Heroes 2 has been pushed to June 25th, 2013. Company of Heroes 2 was originally scheduled for an earlier 2013 release, but according to Relic Entertainment (recently acquired by SEGA) CH2 wasn’t quite ready for print.
“We hate to disappoint our fans with a later than expected date,” said game producer Greg Wilson, “but we feel that the additional time will help the team deliver the high quality sequel they deserve.”
For those of you who can’t wait, Relic says they will soon launch a Closed Beta to test multiplayer mode. We don’t know when that will be yet, but we’ll keep you posted.
Company of Heroes 2 boasts the Essence 3.0 Engine, with the ColdTech weather system and TrueSight line of sight system.
The first Company of Heroes game was released for PCs in 2006 and is the highest rated strategy game according to Gamerankings.com at 93.93%.
